Fluctuating RPM Readings?
If you're noticing high or low fluctuations in your RPM readings, it is likely because the contrast on the propeller face does not meet the sensor's upper or lower threshold. To resolve this, follow these steps:
High Contrast Marker: Place a high-contrast marker on the inside of one of the propeller blades, ensuring it is aligned with the optical probe.
Check the unmarked area of the propellers: Slowly move the optical sensor across the marker while checking the sensor readings. Ensure that the area of the propeller with the marker does not exceed the upper threshold and that the unmarked areas fall within the sensor's lower threshold.
Reduce reflections: To reduce contrast buildup on the propeller without the marker, ensure that the ambient lighting is low enough to prevent reflections from triggering false pulses.
Sufficient Voltage: Ensure that you're supplying an adequate voltage to the optical probe, as insufficient voltage may cause the measurements to be skewed.
